"Gaijin" Japanese term for “foreigner”. Used as a politely insulting slang term for non-Asian humans within the former Eastern Bloc worlds, and occasionally on New Tokyo as well. See also Gweilo and Hung Mao.
In the Season Eight Alternate Timeline, the term was used very frequently within the Middle Kingdom, being an official racial classification on identity documents, as part of the officially-sanctioned policy of discrimination against non-Asians.
