A Vin Shriak worldship in the skies over Edo in 2252
Edo is a former Eastern Bloc system on the southwestern frontier of human space along the Arachnid Quarantine Zone. It was devastated first by the Vin Shriak in 2252, and then again by the Caal in 2264. The human population was essentially wiped out between these two invasions, and most of Edo's cities now lie in ruins.
Briefly grandfathered into the Terran Republic, Edo remained barely inhabited, mostly by scavengers sifting through the wreckage for anything worth salvaging or stealing, and later by smugglers and pirates in need of a hideout. By 2276, the Bugs had spread to and infested the empty planet, driving out what few humans remained.
At some undetermined point in the future, Edo will be cleared of Bugs, recolonized, join the Holy Terran Empire, and be granted as a fiefdom to House Green.

Edo is the original name for the small fishing village that eventually grew to be Tokyo after the national capital was moved there from Kyoto.
